This week, for the third time, the United States VETOED a ceasefire resolution in the U.N. Security Council, as the rest of the nations looked on in anger. This despite the growing awareness that an overwhelming majority of the world's people want a ceasefire, and that they identify the U.S. with Israel as perpetrators of the genocide against the people of Gaza. The next day, American diplomats appeared at the International Court of Justice to defend the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands--which, at least on paper, all American administrations had opposed.
