The ongoing war between the Israeli military and Palestinians in Gaza is swiftly moving toward the 100-day mark with no perceivable end in sight. While the conflict dominates international headlines on a daily basis, the crisis can seem relatively remote to many living in the Hudson Valley. On Sunday afternoon, the crisis was underscored at Upstate Films in Rhinebeck when four panelists, along with Marjorie Leopold serving as moderator from Mid-Hudson Valley Jewish Voice for Peace, came together in front of a packed auditorium to hold a “Yearning for Peace and Justice Teach-In” about the impact of the war and possible solutions leading to a hostage and prisoner release, a permanent ceasefire, and long-term solutions for the region. ...
