Saturday,
July 8 from 4-6 pm. Table of free watermelon slices to celebrate
Palestinian resistance to Israel's brutal occupation. The table was in
Beacon, NY during the Second Saturday Art Walk. We met at 223 Main
Street and set up our table near the DMV Office.
This
event called attention to the ethnic cleansing and murder happening
every day in the West Bank, as IDF soldiers and armed settlers destroy
Palestinian homes, schools, farms, and infrastructure. Palestinians have
a right to resist this genocide based on ethnicity and religion. And we
as Americans have a moral obligation to end our country's support of
these war crimes. Cosponsored by Hudson Valley BDS, Jewish Voice for
Peace-HV, and Middle East Crisis Response. Contact:

"In occupied Palestine, watermelon is a symbol of resistance. With its colors mirroring the Palestinian flag, the fruit can be seen from the stone walls of Gaza to the galleries of Ramallah, hinting at the political history of a cherished summer fruit."
